Reporting to the Technology Support Supervisor, the Technology Support Specialist role provides expertise and ongoing technical support to assist customers on the use and operation of Caterpillar Mining software and hardware technologies.
The primary function of a Technology Support Specialist is to provide ongoing technical support to end-users and customers as well as mentoring coworkers on the use and operation of Mining software and hardware technologies. Using a combination of expertise and coordination with Finning and CaterpillarĀ®, the successful candidate will provide troubleshooting and assistance implementing the software and hardware for CatĀ® Technologies including, but not limited to: Command, Health, Fleet, Terrain, Site Aware, DSS, and Trimble Heavy Civil technologies that are currently used at the customers mining and construction operations. In addition, the role includes advising other technicians and technical experts and has a key role in making decisions and providing support, both for office and onboard systems.
The position is based out of our Finning Edmonton branch, on a hybrid work schedule with requirements to be dispatched to Western Canada (Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince George and area) as required. The on-call schedule will be required. Shift work and travel to the site at 50% or more of working hours may be required as project schedule dictates.
This role will also liaise with experts at CAT to troubleshoot and optimize MinestarĀ® and Caterpillar suite of products and be responsible to communicate any product changes or improvements to the dealer as understand any impacts to our processes.
The total annual target compensation for this position is $80,000-$100,000
