Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance Lead Hand with a competitive hourly wage of $62.24 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 10%.

The purpose of the position is to ensure reliability/safety and one point of accountability for camp maintenance related maintenance which would encompass Brucejack Camp.

Perform following duties, with safety being the number one priority:

  • Attend daily and weekly planning meetings
  • Complete and support safety documentation to support work as required
  • Support FRM program and PSM meetings
  • Attend training for supervision as required
  • Coordinate work scopes with other trades and supervision
  • Complete Work Management process following Newmont’s business plan
  • Work closely with planners to ensure parts and tools are available for tasks including kitting and stagging as required
  • Assist the Brucejack site maintenance supervisors (Camp Maintenance) with daily repair work to ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Support Brucejack Site Maintenance Supervisors in the planning of work to meet target and schedule
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew and provide support and feedback as required 
  • Perform preventive maintenance/ routine, and non- routine repairs
  • On call for equipment emergencies on a 24-hour basis when on site
  • causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

About You

Position requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Red Seal Tradesperson certification is required for this position
  • Preferred (5+) years maintenance experience in industry
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising multiple trades and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to troubleshoot mechanical, infrastructure, and support systems
  • Experience in Planning, project management and predictive management is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong comprehension and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset

Skills

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Detail and results oriented with the ability to multitask, and adhere to deadlines
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance planning & administrative software
  • Experience with Camp Infrastructure and services (Including Plumbing and Gas)
  • Experience implementing business enterprise systems such as SAP or similar
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Work at remote location (camp) on 13 days on, 13 days off rotation, 2 travel days schedule.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
  • Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
  • Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters with the team.
