Purpose

Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor – Electrical and Instrumentation with a competitive base salary between $109,000.00 – $129,000.00 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications.

We are seeking a Supervisor to lead our Electrical and Instrumentation team, ensuring safe, reliable operations and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, training, and performance while guiding and mentoring team members. The role involves managing critical systems like; site wide electrical infastructure, medium and high voltage systems, Emerson DeltaV, the Radiation Safety Program, and instrumentation processes, as well as driving continuous improvement and collaboration across teams. Essential Duties

•    Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, schedule and regulatory requirements
•    Ensure safe, reliable and effective operation & maintenance of electrical & Instrumentation systems site wide
•    Safety Leader, making personnel safety a priority 
•    Oversee training, supervision, evaluation and provide leadership for the department
•    Guide, coach & mentor direct reports
•    Exhibit effective conflict resolution and decision making
•    Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
•    Supervise preventative and corrective maintenance, additions, removals and changes to field devices within Electrical & instrument systems. 
•    Work closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the Electrical & instrumentation systems are aligned with site requirements
•    Support Asset Management & industry best practice standards
•    Act as the site Subject Matter Expert in both electrical & instrumentation systems
•    Assist in authoring and review of electrical & Instrumentation maintenance SOP’s, SWI, JSEA, etc.
•    Own and administer the site instrumentation register 
•    Own and manage the Radiation Safety Program, as an RSO 
•    Work closely with the process control team to ensure safe, reliable and effective operation & maintenance of control system (Emerson DeltaV) and other local PLC based control systems.

Technical Accountabilities

•    Ensure statutory systems are maintained, audited and treated according to the relevant legislation. 
•    Ensure compliance with change management procedures with logs and registers kept up to date and audited regularly
•    Provide technical support, guidance and coaching to site personnel on best practice and technical matters related to electrical & instrumentation device selection and use.
•    Conduct performance evaluations to identify operational limitations and initiate steps to enhance system performance
•    Maintain the safety, security and integrity of electrical & instrumentation equipment & devices 
•    Maintain accurate documentation, calibration reports, drawings, change maintenance etc.
•    Manage incoming work notification & work orders daily 
•    Provide input to weekly preventative maintenance planning.
•    Propose, prepare and submit regular feedback on work orders resulting from maintenance activities to improve maintenance plans, records and task lists. 
•    Ensure critical spares are available to maintain continuous operations 
•    Assist with review of Electrical drawings, P&IDs and other documentation as required 
•    Build team skills and maintain training programs
•    Conduct personnel performance evaluations to identify personal limitations and initiate steps to enhance employee performance

Training & Experience

•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment as a supervisor 
•    Minimum qualifications:
                o    Electrical trade certification with 5 years direct supervisory experience 
                      And/or 
                o    Instrument trade certificate with 5 years direct supervisory experience
                      And/or 
               o    Instrumentation / Electronics / Process Engineering applied sciences undergraduate degree  with 5 years direct supervisory experience
•    A thorough understanding of:
              o    High and Low Voltage electrical distribution systems
              o    The CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) Standards including CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety
              o    Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, installations, and calibration best practices
              o    Emerson DeltaV DCS, Rockwell PLC’s, Industrial Communications Networks
              o    Instrument selection and sizing for a wide range of instruments across flow, level, pressure, temperature, motion and several analysers (i.e. pH, dissolved gas).
•    Experience in supervision and mentoring of personnel including apprentices
•    Provide quality, detail-oriented safety driven results
•    Sound knowledge of M421 Standards (Use of Electricity in mines)
•    Willing to be appointed as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with the management of radiation sources on site (training will be provided) 
•    Good interpersonal skills.
•    Excellent organization and planning skills.
•    Extensive experience in CMMS Software (SAP) 
•    Proactivity and ability to work independently.
•    Provide quality, detail-oriented safety driven results
•    Good oral and written communication skills 
•    Computer literate and advanced skills in the Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•    Solid computer hardware and software administrative skills.
•    Valid driver’s license.
