Reporting to the Project Director and working within the broader Galore Creek Mining Corporation’s (GCMC) Project Leadership team, the Senior Investment Analyst is responsible for the analysis of a broad range of opportunities from a strategic, economic, financial, and business perspective. This includes specific economic and technical evaluations for GCMC’s investment decisions including capital, operating cost, and tax trade-off assessments throughout the project development phases. The Senior Investment Analyst will also support other initiatives, including but not limited to business planning and forecasting activities related to capital and project expenditures, third-party commercial evaluations, and other key contractual agreements.
The primary economic evaluation function of the role includes leading and establishing the application of industry best practice processes related to assessing and communicating the financial viability of key investment options which are in-line with GCMC’s approved development plans and business objectives. This includes preparation of quantitative and qualitative justification documentation that supports a wide range of investment decisions and project gating requirements. These evaluations include strategic assessments within the social, environmental, and regulatory landscape and capital investments for key technical and engineering assessments for advanced new technologies, linear infrastructure, and traditional mining and mineral processing operations.
In close collaboration with the Project Director and the broader GCMC Project Leadership team, the role will support the completion of capital cost, operating cost, sustaining cost, tax, and combined investment return trade-off analysis for GCMC’s project development phases. The role will be responsible for contributing to site investigation programs, engineering studies, capital and operating cost estimates, execution plans, environmental baseline work and the preparation of Social and Environmental Impact Assessments (SEIA) and in certain instances the preparation of NI 43-101 Technical Reports.
The role contributes as an integral member of the GCMC Management team in the overall management and governance of investment decision-making processes for value enhancements, strategic action plans and project development options focused on addressing the value impediments (i.e., tenure acquisition, water management, community, technical and engineering.). In addition, the role ensures effective understanding of and communications about GCMC’s strategic planning process throughout the organization.

GCMC highly values its long-standing relationship with the Tahltan Nation, and continues to implement the 2006 Participation Agreement, including involving the Tahltan Nation in regulatory processes and review of environmental performance, and providing preferential contracting and employment opportunities. Working closely with the Tahltan Nation and local communities, we strive for excellence in all our activities, with continuous improvement and responsible practices that contribute to sustainable development.
