Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Senior Capital Projects Engineer with a competitive base salary between $110,000 – $145,000 dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications with an additional short-term incentive of 15%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
The purpose of the position is to support the Mine Operations and Technical Services group with major projects. The project priority list will be that of the approved capital budget, along with other projects to sustain capital development within the mine. The successful candidate will also be able to supervise or delegate tasks to intermediate and junior engineers. Deliverables of the roles include producing project timelines, budgets, engineering solutions and managing contractors during project execution.
Perform the following duties with safety being the number one priority:
- Provide continuity on various assignments and projects within Brucejack mine
- Initiate, maintain and provide updates on capital projects due in the budget year.
- Manage dewatering projects including cost trade offs for pump sizes, power, and piping.
- Set and maintain mine infrastructure standards including escapeways, vent raises, mine power centers, paste infrastructure and sumps.
- Perform financial trade off and KPI benchmark studies. Results to be presented to Senior leadership for review and approval.
- Continue to provide support for operation related projects such as:

- Battery Electric Vehicles
- Central dewatering sump
- Ore sorter trial

- Manage interfaces between multi disciplinary projects within Brucejack mine including engineering, logistics, contracts, and procurement.
- Manage projects based on regulatory documentation and code.
- Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

About You:
Position requirements include but are not limited to:
- BSc. Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent education.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a capital projects role within mining or a related industry.
- Experience working in underground mines required.
- Registration as a P. Eng. or P. Geo with EGBC is a requirement.
- Advanced computer skills (ie. AutoCAD, Deswik, Vulcan, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player to work with coworkers and contractors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with management teams and deal with complex problems.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and Provincial mining & safety legislation and regulations.
Additional Information
- Work at remote location (Brucejack Site) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- Be able to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
- Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters with the team.
