Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Security Lead with a competitive base salary between $80,000 to $90,000 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 10%.

The successful candidate will oversee asset/security operations at Brucejack or Wildfire camps while ensuring compliance with Newcrest’s Product Security philosophy and procedures, as well as, providing supervision and direction to the security team.

Perform following duties, with safety being the number one priority:

  • Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors are acting in accordance with Newcrest's Product Security philosophy and procedures
  • Act as a point of contact for management and personnel to address any security related concerns
  • Provide daily supervision and task delegation of all contractor security personnel assigned to the camp
  • Coach and train new and current security personnel on Newcrest standards, policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Product Security procedures
  • Effectively manage the performance of security personnel including performance management, constructive feedback, and corrective action, as required
  • Conduct screening of inbound/outbound personnel and authorized vehicles, as well as road orientations
  • Conduct pre-access, post-incident and/or reasonable cause drug & alcohol screening
  • Report all instances of non-compliance/incidents defined as major and minor breaches of security which includes damage to mine property or is a risk to safety as well as reporting of invasive species reports, daily activity report
  • Conduct incident investigations and complete associated reporting
  • Assist team with asset/product transport operations
  • When assigned to Brucejack, coordinate Gold Room and Process Plant services, and monitor compliance by employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure Product Security compliance
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems daily and conduct audits, as well as assist in general CCTV audits
  • Maintain, follow, and execute Standard Operating Procedures and report any policy violations to the Asset Protection Principal, as well as maintain site Product Security manuals and
  • Maintain all site Product Security manuals including the master copy of the procedure and instructional manual
  • Ensuring that Product Security related maintenance, servicing and works programs are conducted
  • Adhere to the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, and to Newcrest's Code of Conduct Policy
  • Other duties as required

About You:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:  

  • Post-secondary education and certification in a related field (I.e., security operations, security guard, law enforcement)
  • 5+ years’ experience in security operations, risk analysis, and asset protection.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Previous experience using Kantech – Access Control and ExaqVision – CCTV Systems.
  • Valid OFA Level 3 required. 
  • Valid BC Security License required.
  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience working in mining security operations and a remote setting is an asset.
  • Previous experience in project management is an asset

Additional Information

  • Work at remote location (camp) on a 14 days on/14 days off rotation
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
  • Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
  • Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters with a team.
