THE JOB

In this key role, you will play an integral part in supporting our injury management and return-to-work initiatives. Working closely with employees, supervisors, and healthcare providers, you will facilitate safe and timely returns to work for injured team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills to the role, fostering a culture of injury prevention and contributing to a healthy, supportive workplace. Duties would include:

  • Manage WCB claims by completing required submissions, reports, and updates, including bi-weekly earnings reports for injured employees.
  • Design and implement tailored RTW programs, including accommodations, training, and logistics to support injured employees' needs.
  • Maintain and update injury management records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company processes.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety (H&S) team on injury prevention, including ergonomic assessments, hazard identification, and safety matrix updates.
  • Building strong relationships with site management to educate and support RTW programs and injury management resources.
  • Coordinate and schedule Remote Physio Assessments and Medical Appointments, ensuring follow-ups are completed and documented.
  • Support field employee benefits enrollment, changes to coverage, orientations, and timely responses to inquiries about claims and resources.

THE SETTING

This position is based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC. Office work environment with some travel required.

THE SCHEDULE

Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday. There will also be a requirement to be available after hours and on some weekends during busy times.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Experience in Injury Management or Human Resources is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of injury management practices and legislation across multiple jurisdictions is also considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficient computer skills and a thorough understanding of Microsoft Suite and database software.
  • Professionalism and high-quality standards.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and provide a current Drivers Abstract annually.
