Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Red Seal – Heavy Equipment Operator, Crane with a competitive wage of $58.85 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 10%.
This position is located within the Surface Operations Department and reports to the Surface Operations Supervisor or designate.
Through guidance and consultation with the Surface Operations Supervisors, and the Mine Manager this position ensures all crane, equipment and safety guidelines are maintained to high industry standards. As well as adhering to all health and safety regulations and company standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform following duties, with safety being the number one priority:
- Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials, 120-ton crane experience preferred
- Facilitation of training across the team in regards to rigging and crane safety
- Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Operate mobile cranes to move and place construction, Mining Materials, and equipment in a range of areas around Brucejack
- Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
- Operate heavy equipment such as Excavators, bulldozers, rock trucks, loaders, graders and
- Skid steers to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials during operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo using rigging practices, forks and forklifts and the ability to assess loads and read load limit charts
- Complete safe work tasks, FLHAs, JHAs and follow SOPs.
- Prepare working area and adhere to all job safety requirements prior to starting work, keeping work site safe and free of hazards

About You
- Red Seal endorsement for hydraulic mobile crane.
- A Class 1 driver’s license would be an asset
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position utilizing equipment specific to operations
- Mobile crane operators may require a provincial license to drive mobile cranes on public roads
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures within the construction field
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to adhere to shifting priorities and deadlines
Additional Information
- Work at remote location (camp) on 13 days on 13 days off rotation and 2 travel days
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
- Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters with the team.
