THE JOB
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a broad range of hydraulic, electrical, diesel and gas-powered equipment and rolling stock to ensure that equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspects, troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs a wide range of equipment using computerized and other testing equipment. Including but not limited to:
o Full size pick-ups.
o Snowmobiles and RTV’s.
- Cleans, lubricates, adjusts parts, and analyzes and tests equipment.
- Inspects and tests equipment after assembly, and repair and maintenance to ensure proper operation before releasing it for use.
- Understands schematics and manufacturers’ manuals to support repair and maintenance processes.
- Maintains and secures work tools.
- Maintains a clean, organized and efficient workspace.

THE SETTING
This position is based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC. Shop work environment. There is also a requirement to work outside in all weather conditions. Possible exposure to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Red Seal Mechanic Certification.
- 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and make repairs to a wide range of hydraulic systems, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Including but not limited to:
o Full size pick-ups.
o Snowmobiles and RTV’s.
- Basic welding ability is required.
- Experience with a Fleet Management System (i.e., Fleetio) is considered an asset.
- Basic computer skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, and the internet.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and must provide a current Driver’s Abstract annually.
