Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Superintendent with a competitive base salary between $145,000- $185,000 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 20%.
Purpose:
The Mobile Maintenance Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and oversee all mobile maintenance on surface and underground. Maintenance activities include all surface and underground mobile assets.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that a high safety culture is propagated within the department and throughout peer departments.
• Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with applicable Codes, Newmonts Health & Safety policies, WCB and HSRC for Mines regulations.
• Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to a team of front-line leaders and front-line team consisting of heavy duty mechanics, light vehicle mechanics, welders and apprentices.
• Manage headcount, development, and succession planning within team, as well as ensuring good performance management.
• Oversee supervision of mobile maintenance activities to ensure budgets and schedules are met and systems are working as per design requirements.
• Consult and collaborate with the Operations team to identify priorities.
• Lead the improvement and implementation of Maintenance and Material Resource planning for the surface and underground maintenance Team. Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services.
• Work closely with other entities of Maintenance and the site to support busines and growth.
• Hire and oversee training and supervision of staff in conjunction with the Training department.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings & sketches to determine layout options.
• Support the planning department to align maintenance activities for Brucejack.
• Develop, plan, and maintain scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance programs, including relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for measuring system/equipment reliability and long-range performance.
• Adjust plans and activities to meet the changing needs of the Mobile Maintenance Team.
• Responsible for setting and meeting budgeting targets.
• Coordinate labour, equipment and supplies for each project to ensure continuous workflow and remain on schedule.
• Participate in daily/weekly safety, pre-start and department meetings.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure tasks are performed safely.
• Evaluate system efficiencies and recommend changes to ensure that targets and deadlines are met.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience managing and supervising technical trades teams, including front line employees and front line leaders, in a mobile equipment environment.
• Previous experience with underground mobile equipment is required.
• Red Seal Certification in a mechanical/electrical trade with similarly described experience would be considered an asset.
• Ability to demonstrate an advanced understanding and capability to utilize in maintenance systems as it relates to warehousing functions and its relationship to the business.
• Previous experience with SAP would be a benefit.
• Understand world class standards from a maintainability and reliability point of view.
• Strong demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Demonstrated Management abilities in both technical and operational settings.
• Experience developing first class maintenance planning and material resource planning.
• Experience working and interacting with government regulators/inspectors.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, supervisory and conflict management skills.
• Computer software skills (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets

- Work at remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/12 days off rotation
