Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Mine Training Coordinator with a competitive base salary between $120,000-$129,000 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications with an additional 15% short-term incentive bonus structure.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.
Role Purpose:
The Mine Training Coordinator at the Red Chris Site is responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing training programs for open-pit mine operators to improve safety, efficiency, job skills, and teamwork. This role is a leadership opportunity which integrates training with operational and safety goals through collaboration with various departments, ensuring training is practical, meets legal requirements, and enhances job performance.
The Coordinator uses modern training methods and digital tools to increase productivity, reduce accidents, and boost employee satisfaction. By aligning the current learning matrix and developmental frameworks with company standards, the Coordinator ensures that all training programs are consistent and strategically aligned. This role bridges the gap between operational realities and training objectives, contributing to the success of Red Chris Mine through collaboration and continuous improvement
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives, encompassing short-term and long-term training needs.
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of trainers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Ensure individual development plans are in place and performance is regularly evaluated.
- Oversee the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of all training programs, ensuring they are effective, engaging, and meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. The training programs should include hands-on and classroom components, ensuring regulatory compliance and reflecting current mining operations and equipment changes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments, including operations, safety, HR, and senior management. Regularly communicate training progress and outcomes to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Effectively manage the training budget, allocate resources efficiently, and track training expenditures to ensure optimal utilization.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the training team. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance training programs and methodologies. Incorporate innovative approaches like simulations and virtual reality where applicable.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and report on training outcomes to senior management.

About You
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mines Supervisor Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine equipment training or supervision, with at least an additional 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience developing and implementing training strategies in a complex operational environment.
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting, preferably using Power BI.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (MS Office 365, SAP SuccessFactors, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, MineStar).
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design, and digital training platforms.
- Understanding of workplace agreements and employee relations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, cultural competence, and adaptability.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Experience delivering hands-on training and willingness to adopt new technologies.
