Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Mine Coordinator with a competitive base salary between $120,000 – $155,000 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 15%.
The successful candidates will ensure the safe and environmentally responsible day to day operations of Newmont’s underground projects at the Brucejack Mine Site. They will also ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.
Perform the following duties with safety being the number one priority:
- Assist management with all underground activities.
- Ensure that all UG work is being done according to the priorities provided by the Newmont mining and engineering groups.
- Ensure that the UG contractor is performing their duties in compliance with the Newmont contract as well as all relevant BC Ministry of Mine Regulations
- Provide feedback on manpower requirements, equipment selection, etc. for the UG project.
- Work closely with Newmont Tech Services Department to ensure that the plan is understood and passed onto the UG contractors in addition to providing operational guidance to the plan before it gets issued.
- Monitor and supervise mining activities that affect permit compliance such as explosives handling practices and sump mucking.
- Coordinate mining activities with the mill, mine water treatment plant operators, and backfill plant operators.
- Participate in the Brucejack Mine Rescue Team.
- Ensure the safe and efficient day to day operations of the project up to and including:
- Application/compliance of all site policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance of all applicable government regulations
- Budget generation and tracking
- Foster a Team Environment
- Issuing of Daily/Monthly Reports
- Purchase Order and Invoice approval
- Manpower/Equipment planning
- Reviewing of invoices
- Generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Monitor PITRAM dispatch system and personnel scheduling.
- Maintain timesheets for the Mine Operations department.
- Organize and communicate maintenance requests and repairs.
- Perform other related duties as required.

About You
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Unwavering commitment to safety with a proven safety record.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the mining industry.
- Demonstrated management abilities in both technical and operational settings.
- Experience with high grade gold/precious metal deposits
- Experience in interacting with government regulators.
- Ability to build an operations team and foster a team mentality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with budget generation and budgetary tracking tools
- Professional Engineering designation (within British Columbia) considered an asset.
Additional Information
- Work at remote location (camp) on 13 days on, 13 days off rotation with 2 travel days.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- Be able to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
- Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters with the team.
