Mill Operator IV (Union)

Explore the unknown:

Newcrest is one of the world's largest gold mining companies. As a global business, we aim to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported to bring their whole unique self to work.

We recognise that our different backgrounds and perspectives help us find better ways to: solve problems; attract and retain the best people; explore, develop, and produce more gold safely and profitably; and help make Newcrest a better place to work.

Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of crushing is to reduce run of mine ore to suitable size for SAG mill feed.

The safe, efficient operation of the Primary Crusher plays an integral part in the overall growth and productivity of the Red Chris Mine.  The downstream mineral processing facility is fully reliant on the ability of the Crushing Plant to provide a suitable and consistent supply of ore to facilitate the company’s mineral production targets.

Crusher operations personnel play a key role in maintaining production by diligent monitoring of all circuit components and ensuring timely communication with pit, maintenance and supervisory personnel.

To succeed as a Crusher Operator, it is imperative that a strong commitment to safety and a dedication to personal development become a constant in your daily routine. The ability to make good decisions and work with minimal supervision is an essential part of your responsibilities. With time and commitment, your production capabilities and your troubleshooting skills will increase, along with recognition as a skilled Crusher Operator.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.
