Job Summary / General Accountability
Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support field operations at the Galore Creek Project in northwest British Columbia. Reporting to the Camp Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for carrying out proactive and corrective basic maintenance throughout the operating camp(s) while helping to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations in accordance with GCMC policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
The general maintenance responsibilities will primarily be conducted at two remote camps, one road accessible camp (98 person capacity) and one helicopter supported camp (160 person capacity). These responsibilities will include basic facility (kitchen, bathroom, and dormitory) maintenance.
Located in the territory of the Tahltan Nation in northwestern British Columbia, Galore Creek is one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold-silver deposits. This position will be based at the Galore Creek project site on a 15 on / 13 off rotational basis inclusive of travel. This rotation is subject to change as the project requires.
Start date for this role is anticipated to be June 2025, and the end date will be approximately Oct 2025.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, leading by example and fostering a proactive safety and sustainability culture on the common values of health, safety, environment and social responsibility shared by Teck and Newmont (the Partners).
- Provide basic camp maintenance in a safe manner following GCMC’s environmental and safety guidelines.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections around the camp including the bear fence, generators, propane systems, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant and trailers.
- Report to the Camp Leads any issues or concerns regarding camp maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance performed in the camp.
- Troubleshoot and maintain/repair furnaces, hot water tanks, propane systems, fuel systems, incinerators, appliances, kitchen equipment, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.
- Plumbing: Installation of septic and water lines as well as parts knowledge
- Maintain Sewage Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) Systems as well as field and lagoon systems: A solid understanding of how they work and be able to troubleshoot system failures and advise a course of action to repair and prevent further failures.
- Water treatment plants: A solid understanding of how they work and be able to troubleshoot system failures and advise a course of action to repair and prevent further failures.
- Basic Carpentry skills for minor repairs, shelving, and small structures.
- Organize and execute work plans and schedules.
Key Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in camp maintenance or equivalent.
- Small Water / Wastewater operator’s ticket or better is a strong asset.
- Certified trade skills are a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software an asset.
- Experience working with and around large mobile equipment.
- Training in water quality testing is an asset.
- Hold a valid non-restricted Class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to work in remote terrain, uneven surfaces, and all-weather conditions. Ability to lift 50lbs.
- High School diploma or better.
- WHMIS certification.
- Forklift/bobcat operation experience is an asset.
