Purpose

Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Journeyperson Pipefitter with a competitive hourly rate of $55.14.
To perform maintenance and construction duties as a Mill Maintenance Pipefitter within the Mill Maintenance team. To safely perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks to optimize equipment availability, and the Mill Maintenance team’s performance.
 

Essential Duties

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Maintenance and preventative maintenance of production, service and support equipment
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Able to work day or night shifts as required
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease repair times and streamline work processes
  • Use of computer to input work orders, parts, lists, pick tickets, equipment information, troubleshooting feedback and shift turnover notes
  • The mentorship and training of junior employees and apprentices
  • Assist with other maintenance activities as required
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • Input timesheets, material information, equipment information and work orders electronically via SAP.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Blue Prints, Isometric Drawings, and Construction estimating experience.
  • Create reports and log information
  • Other duties as required
Training & Experience
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Pipefitter
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license required
  • Overhead crane, Aerial Work Platform, Rigging certificates are an asset
  • HDPE Pipe fusing ticket or experience is an asset
  • Experience with pipe system layout and pipe fitting fabrication including elbows, wyes, and tees
  • Welding experience an asset
  • Experience living and working in remote camp environment
  • A team player that works well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
