THE JOB

In this uniquely positioned Human Resources role, you stand to gain exposure to the inner workings of a global company while still maintaining the ability to have your voice heard in an approachable and integrative culture. We are a rapidly expanding team within a resilient organization experiencing aggressive growth and are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to our roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Human Resources Manager to develop and continually improve organizational programs and policies.
  • Coordinates international visa applications and provides oversight to CPP applications, international benefits and other activities for overseas work.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new field, shop and administrative employees. Coordinating pre-employment assessments, preparing offer letters, and handling necessary paperwork.
  • Collaboration with Departmental Managers to define job specifications, descriptions, and requirements for various and technical positions within the company.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinates the Performance Review Process for employees.
  • Facilitates the leaving process for departing employees.

THE SETTING

This position will be based out of the company headquarters in Smithers, BC. Office work environment with some travel required.

THE SCHEDULE

Standard working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times to respond to critical situations and to be ‘on call’ some weekends.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Business, Human Resource Management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Previous Administration and/or Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to mining and heavy industry is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel) and database software.
  • Professionalism and high-quality standards.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and provide a current Drivers Abstract annually.
