Purpose

Haul Truck drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a rigid frame haul truck in an Open Pit mining environment.

The Red Chris Mine Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Haul Truck Driver with a competitive base wage of $40.98/hour with additional incentives including Benefits package, RRSP and Travel Allowances to get to and from site. We are seeking candidates for a Fly-In, Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation. 

Essential Duties
  • The Operation of haul trucks (Cat 777, 785 and 793) in an Open Pit mine, on 12-hour shifts rotating between day and night shifts
  • Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports
  • Report all unsafe mechanical conditions
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment
  • Assist in general mine labour and other duties as require
Training & Experience
  • Experience in an open pit mining environment is preferred
  • Be committed to safe working practices
  • Be prepared to actively participate in a positive and safe working atmosphere.
  • The ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions while on shift
  • Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
  • Be a strong team member and be able to work independently as required
  • A valid BC Drivers License
