Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Language, Director of Culture & Heritage (DOLCH) provides strategic and operational leadership in the preservation, revitalization, and celebration of Tahltan culture, language, and heritage. This role oversees the development and execution of department-wide plans, cultural programming, archival and archaeological efforts, and community engagement initiatives. As the department evolves, the DLOCH will manage both legacy and new initiatives that preserve and promote Tahltan knowledge, working closely with Elders, youth, partner organizations, and internal teams.
The DOLCH will be expected to immediately address departmental restructuring, enhance internal policy development, and ensure the department meets high standards of capacity, collaboration, and impact. This includes oversight of distinct operational areas such as Archives, Repository, Archaeology, and Repatriation.
