Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Class A Gasfitter with a competitive hourly wage of $58.85 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 10%.
The purpose of the Class A Gasfitter position is to ensure that all assigned Site Systems comply with building codes in accordance with Project permits, policies, standards and environmental requirements.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties with safety being the number one priority:
- Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
- Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
- Install and maintain gas meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
- Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves and automatic controls
- Test and replace defective equipment or components
- Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
- Attend to gas escape calls and assist in the investigation
- Prepare reports on condition of facilities
- Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
- Participate in any other site-specific training
- Install storm, sanitary and water piping
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and appliances (ie. Dishwashers, water heaters, sinks and toilets etc
- Install and maintain liquid propane storage distribution piping, vessels, and vaporizers
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and internal company policies
- Other duties as required

About You:
- Valid inter-provincial Red Seal Plumbers certification
- Gas Fitter “A” Ticket/Plumbing ticket. Refrigeration ticket would be an asset.
- Must have a BC Gas license or the ability to pass the ARD exam with TSBC.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license for any vehicle that may be utilized for the job
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively related experience in a mining or industrial setting. Experience working on LPG systems would be an asset.
- Experience in remote site, preference given to experience in the area of mining
- Strong knowledge of regulations regarding building and Gas codes, TSBC regulations
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures within the Maintenance field
- Certification in workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS)
- Certification in Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG)
Additional Information
- Work at remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation with 2 days travel
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
- Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts
