We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Apprentice – Electrician to join our Red Chris Mine in Northwest British Columbia with a competitive hourly rate of $39.77.

Working as part of a team, you’ll will play an important role in driving the success of our mining operations and you will have the opportunity to learn while participating in exciting projects.

 

GET PAID WHILE YOU LEARN

Our Apprenticeship Program combines paid on-the-job training while learning in a classroom or shop setting. It takes about four years to complete an Apprenticeship program. To become a certified Tradesperson, you must:

– Complete the required on-the-job hours and the in-school training

– Pass the examinations

– Earn the recommendation of your sponsoring employer

As an Apprentice you’ll earn 75% of the full Journeyperson rate while you learn with further increases as you progress through your apprenticeship.

 

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As an Apprentice you will add value to the team through your continuous skill development as you practice, learn, and progress through each level of the program. You will champion a strong commitment to safety leadership by identifying hazards and following all site safety and environmental procedures. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot and diagnose issues to help make recommendations regarding repairs. We work in a remote area where sometimes you will be required to perform tasks that require physical strength and stamina such as: stooping, crawling, working while laying on your back, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), walking, and standing for periods of time inside and outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Successful candidates will register with the BC Industry Training Authority (ITA) and will be required to attend in-school training and write the standard level exams through Level 4 to the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam to achieve a Certificate of Qualification (C of Q).
