Your Impact
As an Advisor Closure, you will play a critical role in shaping responsible mine closure strategies. Your expertise in environmental impact assessments, regulatory compliance, and rehabilitation planning will ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable site closures. Through collaboration with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders, you will drive closure projects that align with environmental and financial requirements.
As Part of Our Team, You Will:
- Develop and maintain mine closure plans and reclamation strategies.
- Lead site-wide closure teams to implement action plans.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by preparing closure cost estimates, financial provisions, and required reports.
- Monitor and assess rehabilitation progress to inform remediation strategies.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, First Nations partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections to track closure adherence and recommend improvements.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, with experience in mine closure planning, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, and familiarity with cost estimating & project management tools (e.g., RS Means, P6).
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to analyze complex environmental data and implement practical closure solutions.
- Strong Communication & Collaboration: Experience working with regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Your Work Environment:
- Location: On-site at mine operations with periodic travel to regional offices and regulatory meetings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with environmental, technical services, finance, and sustainability teams.
- Work Style: Combination of fieldwork (site inspections, monitoring) and office-based reporting & planning.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$94,350 – $128,000/year and additional 15% short term incentive target . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
