Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Accounting and Administration, the IT Specialist at the Galore Creek Mining Corporation (GCMC) Project and is responsible for onboarding of new personnel, refreshing/replacing machines, incident resolution, applications support, and general ticket and request management. Being the second support person in GCMC, the IT Specialist must have the ability to work independently and make use of varied and detached resources. IT support requests are made through a ticket system and upkeep of the request, incident, and asset management records is required, as well as updating internal team documentation, including policies and procedures and providing input into the annual budgeting process.
This position is a Tier 2 end user support position, with aspects of both Tier 3 and Tier 1 responsibility and technical-aptitude required on occasion. The incumbent is a jack-of-all trades with a strong customer service mindset, with a strong understanding of information technology and technical aptitude. The range of responsibilities spans executive support as well as front line field personnel, in supporting a large and expending project team in an enterprise environment.

This position is based out of the Galore Creek Mining Corporation head office in Vancouver. The IT Specialist is predominantly an in-person office support role with period travel to Smithers, BC and mine site for periods of time.
