Community Liaison-KSM Project

  • Assist with identification of Tahltan Businesses that can secure contracts for the KSM Project
  • Advocate on behalf of Tahltan Members to address, understand project developments, incidents or issues regarding the project’s construction or operation
  • Support in maintaining the Tahltan Business directory
  • Assist Tahltan Businesses with becoming Qualified Tahltan Businesses and provide information for developing Tahltan Businesses’ ability to become Qualified Tahltan Businesses
  • Support Tahltan Businesses with the processes of securing Contract Opportunities
  • Maintain the Tahltan Employment Roster process
  • Assist Tahltan Members with obtaining employment, including assisting with the identification of necessary training or education, and making recommendation with respect to funding for Tahltan members taking such training
  • Aid Tahltan Members with making applications for employment at the KSM Project.
  • Offer guidance to Tahltan Members on advancing in future job roles or functions at the KSM Project
  • Coordinate and participate in social, cultural, educational and Tahltan community events
  • Maintain frequent communication between Seabridge Gold and the Tahltan Nation
  • Support Seabridge Gold communications to local communities and manage the distribution of communication materials
  • Work with consultants, designers, photographers, printers, and external contractors to produce communication materials

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications or business, Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience in general office procedures and proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and Teams
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of accuracy with all tasks
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and show initiative
  • Proven track record of strong organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and equally motivated working independently
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about Tahltan businesses and Tahltan government processes  
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, courteous, diplomatic
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Availability and willingness to occasionally travel when necessary
  • Knowledge of exploration and mining is an asset but not required
  • Valid drivers license is required

Work Location:

  • It is preferred that the position be based in Tahltan Territory with travel to the Seabridge Gold Smithers office; however, applicants that are residents in Northern BC are encouraged to apply.
